Ionia County Community Development was dubbed "the one-stop shop" during its conceptual redevelopment. The plan, implemented in mid-2007, allows one department to work with and help guide individuals through the various building permit (residential and commercial) processes. Ultimately, the applicant is now afforded the ability, with the assistance of Community Development, to "fast-track" building permit issuance as various requirements or prerequisites (i.e. driveway permits, sewage disposal system permits, zoning permits, etc.) will be addressed simultaneously with other county, local, and at times, state agencies. As each building project is unique, Ionia County believes the "one-stop" concept will continue to grow in popularity and further, we are pleased to provide citizens with this convenient, individualized attention in a stress-free, friendly environment.
