Assistant Prosecuting Attorney – Office of the Prosecuting Attorney
Starting Salary: $47,639.00 plus benefits (salary negotiable based on experience)
- Juris Doctorate Degree from an accredited Law School.
- Member in good standing with the State Bar.
- A valid Michigan driver’s license is required
General Summary: The Assistant Prosecuting Attorney (APA) will be primarily assigned to Probate Court and/or District Court to handle any and all proceedings associated. The APA will be responsible for, but not limited to: reviewing warrant and petition requests, conducting plea negotiations for both juvenile and adult defendants, drafting and responding to motions/appeals, and representing DHHS in Abuse/Neglect cases. Strong oral advocacy skills are required as the APA will be expected to be able to conduct various hearings, preliminary exams, bench trials, and jury trials.
