Starting Pay

$21.03 with lateral pay and vacation for prior years of service considered. $4,000 sign-on bonus.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED, supplemented by one or more years of correctional experience; Associates Degree or Bachelor Degree a plus. Applicant must possess a valid Michigan driver’s license.

Michigan Sheriffs’ Coordinating and Training Council pre- employment minimum standards for mental and physical fitness – see information at misctc.org.

General Summary

Full-time corrections officer position: Must be able to perform expected duties required for the daily operations of the jail. Must pass extensive background check and must be willing to work weekends, nights and holidays.
