The Ionia County Board of Commissioners proposes to approve a Brownfield Plan for the Jordan Lake Avenue Development project in the Village of Lake Odessa, Michigan.
Ionia County has established a Brownfield Redevelopment Authority (the “Authority”) in accordance with the Brownfield Redevelopment Act, Act No. 381 of the Michigan Public Acts of 1996, as amended (the “Act”). The Act was enacted to provide a means for local units of government to facilitate the revitalization of environmentally impacted, functionally obsolete, blighted, or housing development properties. The Act permits the use of tax increment financing to provide the Authority with the means of financing eligible activities necessary for redevelopment projects included in a Brownfield Plan.
