Based upon the Governor’s Executive Order No. 2020-110, all Ionia County buildings and non-essential departments and services are now OPEN to the public by appointment only. Office hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m.
You must first contact the office/department in which you would like to do business at in order to schedule an appointment.

Delinquent Tax Payments

Due to increased precautions being taken to decrease contact and the ‘Stay Home. Stay Safe.’ order issued by Governor Whitmer, the County Treasurer has to CANCEL the tax collection hours for March 31st. Please plan on mailing cashier’s checks or money orders to 100 Main St, Ste 121, Ionia MI 48846 or using the drop box at 101 W Main St (the old District Court building). There is an extension on 2017 tax foreclosures through MAY to allow more time for tax payers to get payments in to the Treasurer. If you have questions please email

Thank you for your understanding and patience.

The Treasurer is the Chief Financial Officer for Ionia County. The Treasurer’s Office is responsible for collection of all delinquent taxes, maintains a copy of all current tax rolls to assist the public, and issues all dog licenses.
