The Ionia County Animal Care and Control Department serves the citizens of Ionia County. The Animal Control Department enforces dog laws of Ionia County and the State of Michigan. The Shelter takes in dogs and cats that are surrendered by their owners and/or strays living in Ionia County. These animals are offered to the public for adoption once their required stray hold time, set by the State, is met.
