General Summary
ICCOA Caseworkers travel throughout Ionia County for assessments in client homes, write and collaborate on care plans, assist clients with referrals to other resources, document client needs in case logs and provide ongoing case monitoring. Caseworker or Social Worker experience is helpful, but not a requirement.
Great listening skills, and the ability to respond to client needs, with thoughtful and appropriate service recommendations, information and referrals are at the core of what caseworkers do. The ability to handle sensitive information, and maintain client confidentiality in adherence with company policies, is key.
Candidates who are flexible, with strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines, along with a drive to help others, are good fits for casework.
Caseworkers also have the opportunity to develop their skillset and contribute to special projects. Experience or interest in leading group discussions, providing Medicare/Medicaid counseling, or assistance with Tax Returns/MI Tax Credits or other supportive services is a big plus.
