The Ionia County Commission on Aging’s Blue Skies Adult Day Program welcomes Seniors 60 and up with memory Issues.

Blue Skies provides a weekly opportunity for caregivers to enjoy a day of respite while their loved one is engaged in stimulating and safe activities outside the home. Blue Skies focuses on care for Seniors 60 and up with memory issues and features socialization, enriching programming and a delicious meal. The program offers a fun and welcoming environment with care provided by trained ICCOA staff.

Blue Skies was created to give families an affordable care option that can combine with other available services and support to create an effective care plan for their loved one. The program is hosted Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 9:30am – 3:30pm at the Easton United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, 4970 Potters Rd in Ionia. The hall and grounds offer a relaxing, rural landscape and a fully accessible entrance. Transportation can also be provided to and from Blue Skies.

Admission

Admission into Blue Skies begins with an in-person assessment to ensure the care recipient will thrive in the environment. Blue Skies services are based on a social model which focuses on activities, meals and recreation. Please call (616) 527-5365 for more info.
